Certification Training for Medmont
A prerequisite to ordering GP lenses designed using the Wave Contact
Lens System software is to successfully complete the Certified Wave
Designer (CWD) training modules.
You will need to first download and install the training database into
your Medmont software program.
Click HERE to download the CWDModulesMedmont.zip file. You will
need to unzip files and import into your Medmont Database.
The Wave Certification menu below shows the sequence of videos to
view. Once you have completed reviewing Modules 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8
(Module 9 is optional), you apply what you have learned by sending your
own Wave design via Wave Lens Certification Designs Submission
Form using the appropriate standard map from the training database.
After exhibiting mastery of the fundamental principles and skills for
designing spherical, toric and mulitfocal lenses (orthokeratology lens
is optional) using the standard maps AND averaging 5 or more lens
orders per month [not including warranty lenses], you will attain
Certified Wave Designer status.
Also, if you are going to dispense Ortho-K Lenses in the United
States you will need to take and pass the Bausch + Lomb Vision
Shaping Treatment Test for Orthokeratology. It is a short 10
question test.

The certification process is designed to quickly get you up and running
with the shortest learning curve. In addition, once you have attained
your CWD, you qualify for the 30-day lens return, a third exchange at
half-price and post-dispensed clinical support. (Visit the home page for
more information on clinical support.) In addition the "Find a Provider"
lookup feature on our website will list you as a Certified Wave Designer.
To maintain your CWD status, simply order 60 or more Wave lenses
(not including warranty lenses) per year.
