Keratron Scout Install Instructions

1. If this is a new install on a computer that has never had Keratron Scout installed click HERE.

 

2. If you are Updating a Keratron Scout program that has already been installed on your computer follow instructions below.

 

Download the Keratron Scout program and save the file in your downloads folder.

 

If the download file is named SETUP.txt, you will need to rename the file to SETUP.exe before you can run the installation.

 

You will want to save the setup.exe file.

When you run the saved setup.exe file you will need to run it as the administrator.

You must un-install earlier versions of Scout in the Windows Control Panel before installing the newer version. You will not lose any data.

 

You need your Scout serial number to register for downloads.

 

When you register, Optikon will send you a confirmation email. From the confirmation email you will be able to login to download the Keratron Scout software setup.exe file. Once you download the setup.exe file, before you install you will first need to un-install any earlier versions of Scout.

 

You will also need to download the Keratron Scout USB drivers. There are detailed instructions on downloading and installing the Keratron Scout drivers on the Optikon website.

NOTE - When upgrading your software programs you should always upgrade Keratron Scout program and Keratron Scout USB Drives first.
